Geranium oil…One of South Africa’s own…

But now there are so many hybrids and they are found throughout the world.
There is much information about this wonderful plant, but here I have put together an easy to read assortment of three of the most popular Geranium pure distilled essential oils that Essential Herbal Products has to offer.

Pelargonium odorantissimum (Geranium): It is a strong smelling oil with a floral aroma and a hint of mint, and when extracted from the Odorantissimum plant has a slight apple undertone, it helps to balance the mind and emotions, while stimulating the adrenal cortex and balancing the hormonal system and stimulating the lymphatic system. On the other hand, it balances the production of sebum in the skin, while keeping it supple and helping with the healing of wounds.

Pelargonium graveolens (Rose Geranium): This crisp and rosy essential oil stimulates the adrenal cortex and helps to balance the nervous system, while lifting depression and relieving anxiety and has a regulatory effect on the hormonal system, clearing sluggish and oily skin, while assisting with healing.

Pelargonium asperum (Geranium Egyptian): antibacterial, antispasmodic, anti-tumorial, adrenal support, anti-inflammatory, astringent, antibacterial, anti-fungal, haemostatic (stops bleeding), and general tonic, Geranium was used by the ancestors as a remedy for wounds, tumors, and skin care.

With antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, Geranium essential oil is indicated in acne, dermatitis, eczema, wounds that are weeping and will not heal, bruises, grazes and cuts, light burns, hemorrhoids, varicose veins, and ulcers, sore throats, tonsillitis, and neuralgia.
