Winter is on its way… Sinuses start acting up…what can you do?

autumn in DurbanHere in Durban, South Africa, our winters are very mild indeed. Our autumn is still like Summer and our Winter is like Autumn and, if we’re very fortunate, we’ll have one week some time in July/August that is freezing cold (well for us it’s laughing buddhafreezing cold as the temperature drops below 15°C). I can hear some of you laughing, but that’s the way I see it.

With the drier weather comes sinus issues, as well as head colds which include stuffy noses and sore heads. Here is a synergistic blend that I use on myself. My friends also use it and come back for more because it is very effective.

inhalation 2Sinus decongestant synergistic blend: (To make 10ml)

  • 5ml Niaouli
  • 3ml Geranium
  • 2ml Thyme

Mix together and store in an empty essential oil bottle (Recycling old bottles can come in handy). If you do not have a bottle handy, we can supply you with one.

Now there are 3 ways you can use your blend:

  1. Put a drop on a hanky/tissue and inhale (I prefer this method as I can clear my sinus any time of the day, wherever I am).
  2. Place 2/3 drops in a bowl of boiling hot water and inhale.
  3. Place 3 drops in a burner and place in the room you are working/sleeping in.

This blend is available from us. It costs R27.00
