What can I give my teacher or colleague? Something meaningful…Something natural…?

It’s almost the end of the year…That time of year when we say Thank You to our teachers, lecturers or colleagues for being there for us during the year.

This year, we’d like to suggest that you get them something that has meaning and is useful at the same time.

Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh

(Spoiler alert: It’s not real gold )

The gifts of the Magi come with a depth of meaning that can not be easily forgotten. Dr Eric Z has a lovely article speculating on the 3 gifts. you can read it here https://drericz.com/truth-about-gold-frankincense-and-myrrh/.

But for our purposes in this blog, we will just point out the following: Myrrh was commonly used as an anointing oil,

frankincense as a perfume, and gold has always been seen as a valuable metal. Precious gifts indeed for a child who grew up to change a part of the world forever.

Frankincense and myrrh are both excellent for the skin and we use both in our products (See our Shea, frankincense and myrrh). These resins can also be burned as incense and both have very specific healing properties: Frankincense helps to reduce stress and tension and it lifts ones spirits; Myrrh is cleansing and purifying. Both are easy to burn. Just put a little coconut oil in the top of your oil burner and place a bead of the resin in it. Then light a tea candle and put into the well under the top bowl. Another way to burn the resin is on a little piece of smouldering charcoal (Please note that this way the incense creates a smoke).

We have packed the three gifts in a pretty organza bag and placed a verse from the bible that speaks of gifts being given to Jesus.

Our second suggestion is something a little more practical. This is for the person who prefers natural cosmetic products, and ones that have not been tested on animals.

Dry/Mature Skin

R330 for the set

This set consists of a cleanser (Soap free), Rose water for the toner, Nourishing face cream (for the day) and Nourishing and Revitalising face oil (for the evening). These have been tried and tested on humans. Chris and I only use our own products for our daily facial routine. As both of us are over 50, we both use this range to very good effect.

Oily/Combination Skin

This range of cosmetic products consists of a cleanser (Soap free), Witch Hazel for the toner, Revitalising face cream (for the day) and Nourishing and Revitalising face oil (for the evening). These have been tested by younger women with oily and combination skin and they have been very happy. Some only use the face oil (instead of the day cream) and love the results.

Gift wrapped

We will gift wrap the facial routine sets if you will be gifting them to friends, colleagues or teachers. We will also gift wrap them for you if you want to gift yourself and show your skin you love it.

We wish everyone a great week, especially those still writing exams.

Love and peace

Chris and Sue
